Of the 8 counties considered "Western New York," 7 are red counties and 1 blue. The blue one is Erie County, home to the City of Buffalo, and the only county to reinstitute an indoor mask mandate since the original mandates were lifted by former New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo in
May 2021.
While most local officials are going along, two have publicly objected. Marilla, N.Y. Town Supervisor Earl Gingerich Jr. called the mandate "ridiculous," adding, "We will not comply." West Seneca, N.Y. Town Supervisor Gary Dickson says that, "COVID will be with us for a long time,
that hospital capacity needs to increase immediately, and that mask and vaccine mandates are counterproductive and abusive of residents’ rights."
I had a chance to speak with Gary last week. He had a lot more to say. Don't miss Episode 10 of Tom Mullen Talks Freedom. Listen on Apple, Stitcher, Google, You Tube, or the platform of your choice.
