There are some who find it ironic that a band of left-wing producers, directors, and actors would produce a smash hit musical about the “father of American capitalism.” Alexander Hamilton was anything but.
He’s really the father of inflation, bridges to nowhere, and high taxes. Rather than any friend to free markets, he was the ultimate bureaucrat, writing word blizzard report after report arguing for virtually every government intervention into the economy we suffer under today.
Former economics professor and best-selling author Tom Dilorenzo joined me for Episode 24 of Tom Mullen Talks Freedom. This is one you don’t want to miss. Tom is best known for his The Real Lincoln: A New Look at Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War. My two favorites, though, are:
Hamilton's Curse: How Jefferson's
Arch Enemy Betrayed the American Revolution--and What It Means for Americans Today
How Capitalism Saved America: The
Untold History of Our Country, from the Pilgrims to the Present
After reading that second one, you’ll never have trouble answering any “but without government, how would we…” question again.
If you signed up on this list before last weekend, you may not know I have a new book out called, It’s the Fed, Stupid. You can download a free ebook copy here.
It’s also available in paperback here. It’s priced at a pre-hyperinflation level so grab a few copies for friends if you can.
It makes a great introduction to the government’s most economically damaging institution for liberals, conservatives, libertarians, socialists, and independents alike.
It also helps me keep the lights on here so I can continue to bring you great content.
