I sincerely hope the Trump administration reaches a deal with the Iranian government to end the war started by the former based upon a completely fake, manufactured threat supposedly posed by the
latter.
That said, Trump has claimed agreement on "almost all points" (or words to that effect) before, when the two sides agreed on absolutely nothing of substance. If there is a deal, I would think, based upon all of Iran's statements to date, that it will at a minimum include:
Iran continuing to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, perhaps with a limit (something we
had ten years ago before Trump ripped up JCPOA)
Iran retaining missile capability sufficient to reach Israel
Iran refusing to abandon proxies, although they may agree to try to influence them in a more peaceful direction
Sanctions on Iran lifted in exchange for opening the Strait of Hormuz, albeit under
Iranian control
Return of the rest of Iran's money seized by the U.S. goverment decades ago
Whatever the other details of the agreement, if all or most of the above is included, it will have been a resounding victory for Iran over the most powerful nation in human history.
It will be a resounding defeat for the U.S.
empire, but a clear win for the American people, whose interests rarely coincide with the empire's.
I talked about the strategic dilemma into which Trump has put himself, as well as the recent primary defeat of Thomas Massie in Kentucky, on the lastest episode of Tom Mullen Talks Freedom.
