In June 2020, I canceled cable. I rarely watched television anyway, outside of Buffalo Sabres games. But I was mainly motiviated by not wanting a single penny of my money going to cable news. Not even the small portion that
flows to them through carrier fees even if I didn't watch.
I encourage you to do the same. Even with their ratings crashing, you're still paying cable news stations if you have a cable subscription.
Thank goodness we have alternative media. Conservative icons like Tucker Carlson and Bill O'Reilly were kicked off Faux News but both reach an order of magnitude more people with their
webcasts today than they ever did then. On the libertarian side, we have Dave Smith, Clint Russell, yours truly, and many more reaching more people than ever.
But it's important to remember that just because alternative media is telling a different story than cable fake news, that doesn't mean they're accurate, either. There is a lot of fake news on alternative media, too, even on issues cable news is also lying
about.
Thomas Eddlem of the The Libertarian Institute and the Blue Collar Breakdown podcast joins me today to dispel some fake news on immigration.
