If you've been on this list for more than a week, you probably know I believe radical changes are needed to put the United States back on a trajectory towards something resembling a free country.

As my Twitter profile says, Gut the military. End the Fed. Repeal the New Deal. For starters.

I know that sounds impossible, but believe it or not, there was a triumvirate of presidents who did almost precisely that. I'm talking about Presidents Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe, who cut the military by 90 percent, eliminated most of the federal bureaucracy, and allowed the First Bank of the United States to expire.

There was some backsliding.

1803 - 1825 was one of only two times in American history during which there were three consecutive two-term presidents (the other being 1993 - 2017) and the only time it featured three presidents who all shared the same political vision.

That sounds like a good subject for a book, doesn't it? Well, Kevin Gutzman agreed and who better to write it than him. He joins me on today's episode of Tom Mullen Talks Freedom to talk about it.
