Among the never ending parade of "crises" the government and media (but I repeat myself) barrage us with is the supposed "recruiting problem" the U.S. military is having. There just aren't enough patriotic young people willing or able to sign up for that government jobs program known as the military.

This gives them an opportunity to float the idea of bringing back the draft. They'd really like to mandate a certain period of "national service," wherein even those who conscientiously object to military service are conscripted into some other waste of time and money run by the empire.

They already have this in many European countries. And our ruling class never lets a bad precedent in Europe go to waste. "Every majuh country in the world has govuhmunt healthcare," bellows Comrade Sanders.

Soon, they'll be saying that about "national service." Mark my words.
